Phillip J. Taft
Phillip J. Taft, 61, Temple, died Sept. 22, 2008, at 5:40 a.m. in his residence.
Upon his death, he had been one of the first and was the longest living heart transplant recipient from Hershey Medical Center. He was reborn Jan. 8, 1985.
Phil was the husband of Linda M. (Fry) Taft.
He was born in Springfield, Mass., a son of Clair Kutil Taft, Phoenix, and the late Phillip F. Taft.
He was the owner of the former All County General Contracting.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict, where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
He was a 1965 graduate of Oley Valley High School and he also attended Kutztown University.
Phil played the keyboard for the group "Slut Brothers" around the Reading area.
He is also survived by a son, Scott C. Taft, Hamburg.
Other survivors include three brothers: Jeoffrey Taft, Phoenix, and Warren and Robert Taft, both of Reading, and four sisters: Susan Taft, Phoenix; Carol Cordes and Claire Wagner, both in Arizona; and Muriel Kramer, Exeter Township.
There are also a grandson, Cody Taft, and a granddaughter, Cassandra Taft.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Milkins Funeral Home Inc., 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, with the Rev. Merrill R. Marisseau officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time in the funeral home.

Fred N. Dobreff
Fred N. Dobreff, 54, Spring Township, passed away Sept. 1, 2008, at 11:20 a.m. in Reading Hospital, where he was a patient since Aug. 26. He fought a courageous battle against cancer.
Born in Reading, he was a son of Betty (Stamm) Dobreff, Mohnton; and the late Stefan N. Dobreff.
He was owner of Fred's Auto Service for 28 years, last working in July 2008.
He was a 1972 graduate of Twin Valley High School and attended Drexel University.
Fred was an avid skier and scuba diver; a member of the Reading Motorcycle Club; and a member and pilot of the Reading Aero Club.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a brother, Peter S. Dobreff, and wife, Carol M. (Aldi), Clifton Park, N.Y.; and two nieces, Christine M. Dobreff and Susan E. (Dobreff), wife of Stuart Smothers.
Services will be Monday at noon in Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, with the Rev. Eckhard Grimm officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. Friends will be received Monday 10 a.m. to noon in the funeral home.

Bruce 'Buzz' Stephens
Bruce 'Buzz' Stephens, loved riding his Harley
Bruce A. "Buzz" Stephens, age 55, husband of Colleen (O'Neill) Stephens, of
Montgomery Avenue, Boyertown, died Tuesday at Pottstown Memorial Medical
Center.
Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Harold M. and Marjorie
(Reichert) Stephens.
He worked for three years at Haines & Kibblehouse Inc. in Skippack and for
many years was a tractor trailer driver for a number of different companies
in the area.
Mr. Stephens was a 1970 graduate of the Northern Vocational Technical School
of Phoenixville, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was a social member of the Reading Motorcycle Club since 1992. He was
also a member of the New Berlinville Fire Company, Gilbertsville Fire
Company, and the Keystone Fire Company.
He enjoyed having friends to his home and spending time with them, and was
an avid golfer and at one time enjoyed shooting pool and playing darts.
As a young boy and teenager he was an all-star baseball player, playing in
Little League and Babe Ruth leagues.
Most of all Buzz loved to watch his son play baseball.
Surviving with his wife are a son, Joseph A. Stephens of Boyertown; and one
brother, Drew A., husband of Rosemary (Ott) Stephens; along with one sister,
Carol A., wife of Joseph Bickel of Trooper. Also surviving are four nephews
and one niece.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Catagnus Funeral Home &
Cremation Center, 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, with the Rev.
Robert Quinn and the Rev. Rich Grill, officiating. Friends may call on
Saturday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

George A. Kaechelin Sr
George passed away on July 26, 2008, of Roslyn, formerly of Olney.
Survived by his wife, Marie (nee Tucci) and his children, George Jr. (Denise), Karl
(Luanne), Jeanine Belinger (Bob) Laurie Shikhvarg (Allan) and Christin
Seaver (Jack). Also survived by 10 grandchildren.

Orison Spotts
Orison (Jack) Spotts, 79, Maidencreek Township, passed away July 5, 2008, in Reading Hospital.
He was the husband of Gloria M. (Famalaro) Spotts.
Born in Erie, he was a son of the late Robert O. and Emma L. (Lewis) Spotts.
He was employed as an inspector for quality control at Parish Structural Products Division of Dana Corp. until his retirement in 1991.
He was the oldest active member of Reading Motorcycle Club, having been a member for more than 50 years.
Also surviving is a son, Mark J. Spotts, Robesonia; and a daughter, Sandra L. Spotts-Hafer, Muhlenberg Township.
Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Gallman-Sonoski Funeral Home Inc., Temple. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton. Friends may pay their condolences Wednesday 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
David A. Neuin Sr.
David A. Neuin Sr., 60, Rehrersburg, died May 24, 2008, in a motorcycle accident in Penn Township. His brother Samuel S. Neuin Jr. was also killed in the accident.
David was the husband of Diane J. (McCoy) Neuin.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of Samuel S. Neuin Sr., Penn Township; and the late Myrtle E. (Brightbill) Neuin.
He was employed as a tool maker for NGK Metals, Tuckerton, for 20 years.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the Reading Motorcycle Club; American Motorcycle Association; and VFW Post 6150, Sinking Spring.
He was one of three founding member of the Circuit Riders Motorcycle Association, now Christian Motorcycle Association, West Virginia.
Other survivors include three sons: David A. Neuin Jr.; John J. Neuin, husband of Heather, Womelsdorf; and Marvin J. Neuin, husband of Jami, Leesport; and a daughter, Patricia, wife of Leon Sweitzer, Sinking Spring.
Other survivors include a brother, Eric M. Neuin, husband of Annie, Bernville; and a sister, Joann E., wife of Carl Smith, Deer Lake.
There are also six grandchildren: Kayla Gentile, Jason Moyer, David Eric Neuin, Zachary Neuin, Harlee Neuin and Ashlee Neuin.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Marissa Lawlor.
Memorial services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Milkins Funeral Home Inc., 4914 Kutztown Road, Temple, with the Rev. Sherry L. Lantz officiating. Samuel S. Neuin Jr.
Samuel S. Neuin Jr., 56, Temple, died May 24, 2008, as a result of a motorcycle accident in Penn Township. His brother David A. Neuin Sr. was also killed in the accident.
Samuel was the husband of Nancy L. (Deibert) Neuin.
Born in West Reading, he was a son of Samuel S. Neuin Sr., Penn Township; and the late Myrtle E. (Brightbill) Neuin.
He was employed as an auto mechanic for Lee Heffner Ford and Manderbach Ford, Muhlenberg Township, last working Friday.
He was a member of Bern United Church of Christ, Bern Township.
He was also a member of the Reading Motorcycle Club; American Motorcycle Association; Keystone and Mount Pleasant Fire Company; Neversink, Northkill, Kutztown and Mertztown Rod and Gun Clubs; Horace Kieffer Home Association, Fleetwood; VFW Post 3729, Long Beach Island, N.J.; and Reading Liederkrantz.
Also surviving are a son, Michael S. Neuin, husband of Kristen, West Lawn; and a daughter, Sharon M., wife of Phillip Wert, West Reading.
Other survivors include a brother, Eric M. Neuin, husband of Annie, Bernville; and a sister, Joann E., wife of Carl Smith, Deer Lake.
There is also a grandson, Zachary D. Neuin.
